Passages and alleys

A remarkable feature of Saint Aubin sur mer is its passages and alleys, which lead you directly to the sea. They create a surprising contrast between the villas of the promenade and fishermen’s houses along the inner streets. Fishermen used to hang their nets on the long stone walls to dry in the wind as it rushed through the narrow passages.
